Welcome to my blog

I created this blog to share the experiences and lessons I have observed and learned throughout my journey. For me, it is especially important to share my thoughts while they are fresh and inspired by the actual experiences – when I can still vividly recall what it felt like when something didn’t work, what caused the difficulty, and what advice I would have wanted to hear if someone had been teaching me. My name is Gábor Sztárcsevics, and less than two years ago, I switched to close to table play using OX long pips.

This change wasn’t driven by technical difficulties – I’ve always had a strong backhand – but by the strategic possibilities of the long pips + inverted rubber combination, which completely captivated me.
I found this style of play incredibly versatile, full of exciting tactical opportunities.

However, I also realized that there are very few instructional materials available online that teach this style with a focus on rapid development.
That’s why my goal is to create content that genuinely supports stable and fast progress, without unnecessary distractions.
I strive to share exactly the kind of information and advice that I wish I had received when I was starting out.

Guide to XIOM rubbers

As I have mentioned in my previous writings, I consider XIOM's offerings to be the most suitable when it comes to rubbers. Within the brand, there are four rubber families worth considering: Vega, Omega IV, Omega V, and Omega VII.

How to learn long pimples quickly

Playing well with long pips above the table is particularly difficult. High-quality long pips shots require the same level of technical skill and dexterity as topspins. Many players put on this rubber to overcome technical shortcomings and never progress beyond a certain level with it. Don’t make this mistake!
